My passion for creating images that humanize the "Muslim world" started with a month-long trip across North India in 2009. My wife and I had many different experiences, but one of the most memorable was staying with the family of an Indian Muslim friend we had met in the US prior to our trip.
Upon returning from our trip and sharing about our trip with family and friends, we were shocked at how many people expressed direct and indirect hate toward Muslims. These experiences and my love for telling stories that matter, compelled me to begin to create images of Muslims around the world that highlighted their dignity, worth and innate value and those made in the image of God.
These images are not my way of condoning or agreeing with all that is represented in global Islam. Instead, it is one small way of showing that many Muslims around the world are just ordinary people who are simply trying to live their lives.
